I Hate Injustice

So today while I was helping one of my friends move we started talking about a past experience of her's that almost brought me to tears. I was around when it happened, but I didn't realize there was more to it.


She was pregnant and in a car accident. The accident was not her fault. The other ran a red light, smashed into her vehicle and killed her unborn child on impact. It caused major issues and damages to her body that affects her ability to work as well. The other driver was and 18 yr old who wasn't tested for alcohol and drugs in her system. The police neglected to take photos of the scene and her parents have money. They have prestigious jobs and no lawyer wanted to take the case. The girl got away with everything and admitted that she wasn't paying attention and didn't see the light. This is so unfair. This happened a while ago, but isn't there anything that can be done? How can people get away with crap like this?
