How could I not take this personally?
My sister plain out told me that I have no style and I dress boring.lol like omg...I just stick to what I can really afford and dont tend to follow fashion trends and such 😕

Sometimes they are in the family. Putting up with that only encourages them. They never change, they just mask their narcissism under straightforwardness. If what you do with your life bothers them, they in a way think they are better than you or know better. That’s narcissism. @SW-User

@SW-User I think it all depends on what is their intention behind their words. If it’s to hurt you, put you down, depreciate you etc. I can say that my brother has told me really cold truths but he has no bad intentions. Dealing with a deliberately mean person in one’s family must be hard.

@SW-User Yeah it depends, and also on the way they say it. People can outright call someone fat, or just encourage them to hit the gym and get better. I think those who are too lazy to help you, use their words to belittle you. Your brothers intention sounds good, but there are so many brothers including that of my wife’s who are outright jerks. Their lives are wrecked but they go on telling everyone what to do.
