I Respect Art And Regard Artists Highly

“Be thankful for the roof over your head.”

You mean be thankful to the construction workers building in the cold, heat, and rain? And not just the construction workers here. I’m talking the builders and construction workers in all countries from North and South America, to Europe, to Asia, in all of history these ARTISTS have been the most overlooked and unappreciated given the incredible load on their shoulders.

“Yeah that’s a hard job, it’s their fault for not going to school to become engineers.”

Okay. Let’s say everyone goes to school and everyone becomes engineers, we all become great at drawing detailed pictures and designing intricate blueprints on paper but no one builds, where would we be? Someone has to build. Someone has to work electricity, and plumbing and these are the very essentials to the COMFORT in our lives and we deem these jobs not as respectable/desirable as the ones that pay more money with less physical labor? Am I the only one confused here?

“Oh please, it’s the engineer and architects that are the masterminds behind these buildings, the construction workers are only following blueprints, anyone can do it.”

Anyone can do it huh? If I give you a picture of myself and you materialize it in 3D, who is the true artist with clay in their hands, building with precision? Who is carrying, molding, getting dirty in the mud, rushed, and then not even given credit for their work? The owner of the company who gives orders is not only the one making the greater profit but getting most of the credit.

Now if there is anyone out there who is an architect/engineer and BUILDS with the construction workers, gives them the proper recognition, treatment, and pay... I would be humbled, and would place them on my pedestal of greatness, true empathy and character, and I’d be their crazy number one fan. I’d be crazy for them because of how rare it’d be to find someone like that.

We forget we are all human. Not objects, not robots, not only useful for our function. We have feelings, we have limits that we are always pressured to surpass, we fear painful consequences, we are trying to live, put food on our table, and pay bills. We’re trying to numb our minds through distraction from all we don’t want to think about as well, we don’t like to hurt emotionally because of our pride; after actually trying. We are looking for people to come to us and many think that through money and prestige that’s the way. Personally, I’m more impressed by the one getting dirty, than the guy in a Benz giving orders. The humility and mental stability of all people in hard labor is nothing short of phenomenal.
