I Remember My First Date
The first date with my husband had a most undignified moment. I'd put a minidress on with boots which were fashionable at the time and a short coat even though it had been snowing and was freezing. I obviously caught his eye as he told me how fab I looked. I thought how good looking he was too - we were the beautiful people!
However, as we walked together into town having parked the car I slipped on some ice left by the snow and down I went. Bob tried to save me but it just had the effect of dragging him down in a heap with me. We scrambled around and eventually got to our feet only to slip again and land on our bums again! So much for the beautiful people! We eventually managed to dust ourselves down and walk into town for our date.
Set the pattern for our marriage. We've fallen on our bums many times but after 40+ years we're still together as we've always managed to get up and carry on!
