I Love Well Fitted Suits

There is no satisfaction that equals wearing a well-fitted suit.
I did have a line of work in which suits were expected wear but there is a real pleasure in dressing well. And one feels more "suited" to the task, more confident in one's abilities to follow through.
It doesn't hurt that ladies often compliment me at an event!
My advice to younger men is to try to have at least one conservatively tailored suit custom-made for you. The satisfaction pay-back will be enormous.

Yes! Every man should have a well fitted suit. Have a knowelda sale person make sure it fits you. Don't just try a separate on at a discount store and say " it's fine!". Make sure the sleeves are the proper length, shoulders fit, waist fits and the proper amount of break on the trouser.

@Pauly These things go in cycles and we are due for a return to elegance in men's clothing.
It is now possible to have a suit custom made at a reasonable price due to computer imaging. Go for a conservative style, at least to start. Currently fashionable jacket lapels and pants are cut too skinny. Being "in fashion" today means being out of fashion next year.

@laotzu92 so true! If a gent purchases a suit with classic conservative styling, and of quality, he can keep it for several years. He then will always look dapper at social events.
Add a quality shirt, with the proper neck size and sleeve length, tie, pocket square. And let's not forget dress shoes, and over the calf socks ( I don't want to see a bit of leg when the gent sits!

@Pauly I've studied the leading male style icons of the 30s through the 50s when actors like Grant, Cooper, Fairbanks, Powell set standards. We have an advantage on them due to better materials. For example, it used to be necessary to have a suspender like device to hold up stockings; now nylon and spandex assist. Zippers only came into use in the mid-30s. Lighter materials are available now and of course easier care.
So it is much easier to have the distinguished look today.
