I Am Too Old to Be Young But Too Young to Be Old

The whole being an adult thing is kind of overrated. I still consider myself a kid, even though I am 20. Until I am solely responsible for my own well-being, I'll feel like a kid. But it is hard to feel like a "man" when you still live with your parents, still in school, in massive debt because of cool, do not have my own car, etc.

I feel the same way. Like a child. Especially when people say you are a child because you still live with your parents and have never moved out

@iamnikki: It's like a weird "in-between" kind of thing. Not quite a kid, not quite an adult.

@jfinn298: Exactly, I sometimes feel like I'm in a teenager state and not really an adult. Most people move out younger or go AWAY for college. I never did (still in college though)

@iamnikki: I went away for my first year of college last year, ran out of money real quick and had to come home. Even when I lived away, I still needed my parent's help. Getting money to buy food, things like that, never totally independent.

Right, that's how I feel about people are out on their own but look down on those at home. Half of those people get their apartments, cars, bills paid for by parents, boyfriends, the government etc so how is that independence either??

@jfinn298: Oh yes! I do
