I Am A Doomsday Prepper

I actually found out a fellow prepper works in my department, so as we conversed about wood fired water tanks my usual lunch buddy had said "this is like a game to y'all?" He compared it to the people who get obsessed with tv like game of thrones or the walking dead. I'm beginning to believe a lot of people who are not of the survival mindset have just never been forced into those situations.

The average lifespan of a human being in my part of the world is about 78 to 82 years. If you examine history anywhere in the world you will see that it's nearly impossible to live out that many years without at least one serious emergency occuring; storms, earthquakes, floods, war, plagues, food shortages, etc. So it is very unlikely that you will not face a life threatening emergency during the course of your lifetime. Being reasonably prepared for such a strong possibility only makes sense.

@greenmountaingal Right. I guess you can say this was a rant about non believers. I've already seen my fair share of personal disasters.
