I Love Indiana Jones

Young Indiana Jones...     I've been recently rewatching episodes from the show.  Some I remember watching the 1st time around and others I'm not sure.  I now remember why the show was canceled.  As much as I like the show, it did have some faults in that it didn't have enough of a transitional episode from when he was younger to his high school period.  It just jumped w/o much explanation.  Plus, I like the historical contexts, but most people are not very familiar with much of what was discussed and needed more of a tutorial on the history portion (maybe via TV Guide or something).  Sad but in the episodes relating the WW I period most Americans would understand little of what was happening like Pershing chasing Pancho Villa, Mata Hari, Verdun, the Somme, etc.  Unfortunately, history is generally taught poorly in the US with little emphasis on the history that America wasn't directly related in.
I can remember many TV series' over the years that emphasized history and very few survived long.  Most were well done, but a combination of expense and lack of ratings typically killed them.  I only hope that one day, the US will start educating our children to be less centric on the US and do better justice to history overall.
