I Like to Read Textbooks

My semester has just been saved!!

I'd been battling with a few questions ahead of my Geotechnical Engineering exam in two weeks and I was already losing hope but I decided to Google textbooks related (I wonder why I didn't think of that before). And I found a well written Quora answer about a particular textbook "Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering by R.K Arora" and the answer seemed to really back the textbook so I decided to look for it and I found a free PDF (don't know if that's legal though). And by God this is the best Soil Mechanics textbook I've ever read in my life, I have four different ones with me recommended by my professor but this one just beats all of them. And now I'm not worried about a thing anymore because I've been able to solve all the problems I couldn't.

I wonder if I should show the book to my professor. I will definitely be buying a physical copy of the book.

Happy for you my friend ,knowledge is power in whatever form you get it ,
and a PDF is as good as any if it gives you the information you need
The Library of Congress has a lot of books archived ,,not sure all the types of information they have ,,but an old book I needed printed in the 1800's was there ,,I was as happy as you
Now I do not have to purchase an $800.00 book
I can just copy the parts I need and paste them into a document I am not trying to sell any of my work it just helps me teach some things easier
I bet class mates will appreciate your discovery if you shared it with them ,maybe you should refrain from telling the instructor until after you complete his coarse ,,he might make the exams harder since you have better information ,if he has any control over the exams

@rckt148 Yeah you're right, I should probably wait till after the exam to share with the professor😁 and I'll definitely share the book with my classmates

@SW-User The author has to be a really good engineer

Why don’t you just google it, it’s quicker and free

@Anonymouslyyours86 I did! I Googled the topic, Googled the questions, but the best I could find were academic papers related to it (or similar questions solved on chegg.com, which I can't afford at the moment).
