I Like Trivia

The ancient runes were discovered many centuries ago near Blekinge in South Sweden, and as early the 12 century, scholars tried to translate it, as they were thought to be an ancient alphabet. In the 17th century, one man discovered one word among them, which could have been the name of a town in Sweden, and the site of an ancient battle.

In the early 19th century, another set of scholars tried to translate it again. This time one among them, actually claimed he deciphered it, and translated it to an epic poem.

A few years later, prompted by the epic poem translation, the runes were examined again. This time by scientists, who finally came to the conclusion, that these were not runes at all... but just natural cracks in the rock.
