I Have Done Absolutely No Work At Work Today

I have to know...
Nsfw? Bored at work.
Online at work.
What employers simply allow so many to use time online.
If i were an employer, (i have been) it would be unacceptable for my employees to be wasting my time (mine, as i am paying for it) doing anything unrelated to the job im paying to be done. If employees dont have enough to do, im certain i could fill their time.

Its getting to be an open secret that not much happens in the workplace anymore. At least re: anything above the fast food level.

So take advantage, enjoy your day and the pay you are getting. I suspect whatever lucky employees like you...are doing, is more important than what you are supposed to be doing.😜
Carla · 61-69, F
@Platoscave not me. I just used that heading. I am semi retired and do few jobs in winter.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Platoscave sure makes for uninspired workers. No wonder so many are apathetic about getting ahead in life.
Platoscave · F
@Carla I'm hip.

Every employer know thaT none of his employees work %100 all time. I think it is ok unless you delay ur job too much. Humans r not robots indeed :)
Carla · 61-69, F
@geekturk yeah, i know. Just never worked in that kind of environment.

As if people didn't stand around socializing at the water cooler and taking excessive smoke breaks a handful of decades ago?

As a society, we collectively spend longer hours at our places of work per day/week making up for our 'sanity breaks', and take less vacations than ever.
Platoscave · F
@Starcrossed People have jobs and jump through many hoops to get them. A lot of stuff goes down in the name of work. Probably much less gossip around the water machine too. But i maintain that as the ladder of prestige rises, less activity looks like the official job description.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Starcrossed in my mind, if there was less sanity breaks, there would be fewer hours needed.
Granted, my work is considered blue collar, but still dont get the intense boredom and inactivity.
Platoscave · F
I just believe in a sanity break called worker-owner coops, no boss, fair hiring and opportunity. Just takes a lot of money to start one, that's a shame. richard wolff talks about this stuff, leftist economist. Hope this won't open any hornets nest though...
As an employer what would you do if caught an employee, M or F, masturbating with a toy or just jacking?
Carla · 61-69, F
@KentuckyWildcats i would let them go. With the advise that they should seek therapy.
Sunflowerx · 51-55, F
Our internet usage is monitored but I use my phone for an odd 2 min break .
an employer could also block access to certain sites , by definition
Hell I'm thinking of leaving heading to the bar for a few beers.
Itchypants · M
Carla relax ,I'm only looking at porn😄🥴

We all have those days,
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
Well as an employee I know u cant work efficiently whole day. If i was a boss I wouldnt mind employees to go on social media or have some time for themselves a bit
Carla · 61-69, F
@ordinaryguy personal time. Okay. But some are at work and here a good part of the day.
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
@Carla that's abusing i think. I suspect that many men go NSFW lol
Carla · 61-69, F
@ordinaryguy yes.
I see the nsfw thing. That's what triggered this post. No employer should be in the position to see any of this. That's all....
ordinaryguy · 41-45, M
Well u cant expect employee's to work 8 hours straight. They need some breaks. Letting them to have a few breaks from work will make them more productive
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
I waste a lot of time especially on SW but I agree if it were an employer work is for work.
Maineguy · 51-55, M
I’m having one of those days today.
Tell me about it !!! Lol
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Good. Youre good at what you do. Keep up the good work.
