Today is his birthday and he would have been 77. His music is immortal and this album will always be among the best rock albums ever. From Are You Experienced. Purple Haze. Still sounds great !!

I was a huge fan as a kid when I was learning to play guitar. What saddens me is he (like a lot of 60's artists) suffered from bad management (like Elvis). They literally ran him into the ground. Had he lived - it would have been interesting to see how he would have assimilated into modern music.
