I've Seen the Darkness

Into the Black

Through the darkness
Within my mind
I cannot see
For I am blind
The things I need
I just cannot find
With all I believe
I am maligned
Ne'er to know
Those things that shined
With forgiveness
Deftly declined
All the blame
Is now enshrined
The contract for my soul
Still unsigned
All the many tragedies
Arranged and aligned
And all the fading memories
Left so far behind
I add up all the bills now due
The totals all combined
I drift away into the black
The place where I'm consigned.
