I Have A Favorite Movie

This one isn't well known, at least to a lot of people I've spoken with, but it's a favorite of mine.

LaLumieri · 51-55, F
I remember this. I had recently seen the Superman movies right before this movie came out and it was a little hard as a little girl to wrap my head around the fact that Superman wasn't going to be Superman and another movie LOL
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@LaLumieri I can see how that would be difficult. :) They actually have a yearly themed party there based on the book/movie called The Somewhere in Time Festival. You can get a package deal to stay at the hotel where it was filmed.

Friends of ours stayed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island recently. It still looks beautiful. It’s from another era. Guests still have to dress properly for dinner. There are no motorized vehicles.

@ChampagneOnIce I read they have a Somewhere In Time weekend there every year as well. I'd love to go for that.

I saw it, then read the book that it was based on. I can't remember the title of the book, though. After recently reading other books involving time travel, I wouldn't mind reading that one again.
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@silentwriter180 There are a few differences between the two, as there usually are when adapting a book to movie. I liked the setting in the book, it's in my home city so yeah, but there were things that I liked that the movie had either added or changed.

A very good movie, I have a VHS copy.
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@NativeOregonian I'd love to have a copy, just saw it on a site the other night.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@MrPerditus1 Amazon might have one.
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@NativeOregonian I'll have to look into that, for some reason, didn't even cross my mind.

@xixgun Couldn't agree more. :)

@RippinKlouds I just watched Somewhere In Time again and it didn't have anything about the roll top desk that I saw, but there was a movie called The Love Letter (1998), could that be the one you're thinking of?

@RippinKlouds Np, glad I could help. :)
It was very popular in the U.S.
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard So true, but so many people I talk to about it nowadays have no clue, this is the best response. :)
@MrPerditus1 It was a beautiful movie with a wonderful soundtrack.
MrPerditus1 · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard Very much so, still gets the dust going in the room. :) So well acted.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
