I Am Proud of Myself

It's been two whole days since I had a Mountain Dew. Yes, that is because apparently my gallbladder (or something else around there) decided to torture me and I'm scared that the carbonated drinks will make it happen again.....but let's not dwell on the silly details. Let's all just congratulate me on a job well done

I drank Mountain Dew for many years until about ten years ago, when I was in the hospital for my knee. I just never went back to drinking it, having been advised to stay away from caffeine as it was slowing down my healing. About two years ago, I had severe pain in my left shoulder and went to the emergency room, thinking it was a chest problem. I was told that I was lucky that I came in when I did as my gall bladder was severely inflamed, so they removed it, saying I was the worst they had ever seen. Be careful.

They didn't remove mine. Told me to go see a specialist. So I'm going to them next week. That was some serious pain. I love Mountain Dew, but I'm willing to give it up to avoid feeling that pain again

@PraiseBeToYevon: and that's how I was, too. I'd drink it all day, as though it was going out of style. But when I learned it was delaying the healing of my knee, it made me think about the chemicals and such that were in it. I'm glad I quit. My knee is better and I'm feeling better over all. Water with lemon is my favorite poison now. You take care of yourself, honey! Glad you're going in to see someone.
