I'm a Musician

No Tomorrow (Lyrics)

My love is a bottomless well
From which to drink
Pour your body all up and over me
In the obsidian night
In the din of the clouds
Under flickering lights
In the shade of the sheltering sky

All the withering bones
And the poison places
Beneath the ruinous stones
And contorted faces
It's the nature and roll
Of perfidious souls
To take a firey toll
Just like the ashen white heat
Blazing from the burning embers
Of my mind

And all I can say
When you look at me
Although it isn't really fair
Is that you could run
And hide away with me
Although the likelihood is rare
We have but
Momentary revelry
Until our hearts
And minds go numb
And though you try
And make it up to me
We know tomorrow
We know tomorrow
Let's hope tomorrow
Never comes

Creatively lovely❣

Ty. It was your prompting that encouraged me to put it up. Well, our discussion, anyway. I'd been thinking about it for a while. It's a little dark, as is a fair amount of what I write. Some things more so than others.

YW. Then perhaps I should encourage you more. 🙃
It has depth and meaning, and the way you weaved the words is art!

Thx again, you're v kind. I thought ppl here could probably relate to it, it's kind of escapist. Seems that's what most ppl around here are here for. Just reading the lyrics aren't the same as hearing the song, o/c. I'll probably post another soon in a similar vein.

My pleasure. Do YOU sing it as well?

I look forward to reading it!

Yeah, I do. I've been focusing more on writing lately. I've actually been working on a political manifesto. I set it aside to follow the primaries, but now that they're over I'll be getting back into it soon.

This is the last song I wrote, about a yr or so ago. I tend to go through periods where I'm really prolific, then nothing. It just depends on where my head's at at any given time.
