I Miss My Husband

I miss the man he used to be. I miss the man I married. He suffers from severe depression and has other issues and it's difficult, for both of us. I wish I could help him. I want to reach him and help him find his way back, but with every year that passes, I know that possibility is fading. With the new year fast approaching this thought is hanging heavy in my mind and on my heart.

I'm very sorry for what you two are going through.
Depression is unrelenting: my days and nights meld into one long period of suspended existence where colors are dulled and music is merely sound.

My thoughts are with both of you
What kind words from someone who is also hurting. Thank you so much. Hugs to you 🤗 And I hope all the best for you.

@KnightsBlueMuse: What most people don't realize is you're suffering just as much as he is. Fortunately I don't have anyone around so it's just me. I wouldn't want to put any body through this.

But enough about me: my thoughts are with you and your husband, as well as my hugs.

🤗🤗
@islandalone: You are truly a kind soul. Thank you again. Hugs and more hugs...🤗

My heart broke, reading this.
I see him there, lost each day, and my heart breaks again and again.

I know the feeling. I truly do.

Have you tried empowering him? Middle aged men seem to get depressed because they feel life is boring and they lost control... simply letting him make more decisions about life's path could help... probably not solve it, but bringing his mind back to his youth would certainly help
I appreciate your suggestions, however, this isn't recent. It's been several years now although we continue to try, his efforts have become less and less. I'm hoping and trying for both of us now and it's very difficult to say the least.
Try talking him into seeking counseling. If he does go join him to support him. Hope everything gets better for you and hubby.
I have run out of fingers and toes to count the number of times we have sought counseling in addition to all the other medical, spiritual and holistic help. Thank you so much for your well wishes.
