I Keep a Gratitude Journal

Last week my colleague sitting next to me was assigned to do an urgent adhoc task with lots of work and she s unfamiliar with. She got mad and complained to 2 other colleagues in my team that she had never seen our senior assigning these tasks to me.

She got mad at me when I 1st came to this office 5 months ago. Our senior was worried to handover tasks (which were being handled by her apart from her own work) to me, a new person who need time to pick up no matter how smart a person was (my senior said), and the tasks were urgent which need my colleague to carry on working on them for a while.

After working for 5 months here I thought we had became quite friendly with each other. I thought she knew that I was not a lazy staff. But she still got mad at me thinking the workload was unfair. Assigning work is my seniors' responsibilities. It's not my fault; and I have hot tasks to do which she doesn't need to do.

I was upset for a day and decided not to care and refrain from contact with this person as much as possible. Once again I feel disappointed with human relationship, the least reliable thing on earth. I don't like getting along with people with unstable emotions, they don't care what other people feel, and nothing established before is worthy of a second thought.

Once again I was reminded that I come here to work, not to make friends.

It's hard to find frens amongst co-workers. Maybe it's the kind of competitive environment we're in, I don't know. I hope she's not saying other bothersome things any more. You can tell her 能者多劳😝if she ever complains again. Sarcasm is sometimes needed if people get annoying.
