I Dont Go to Church

I find a lot of church people are very judgemental and it puts me off going there. Should we be given sermons? I believe in individual choice about religion

I get what you mean, and do believe the devout are judgmental; however, most regular (whatever regular means) believers who go to church, aren't that way. Or at least that's what I've found, not that I attend church, or am a believer. Going to church sort of implies you are a believer, and are there to be preached at/taught the ways of that particular faith, so if you go, you probably have to expect some preachin' 😀

@TexChik What's not it? Look, what you think of me, or for that matter, anything, means squat. So enjoy your fun little games, they are quite revealing... of a small, unimaginative mind.

@prettyflamingo Because, I assume, those doing the preaching think they know better than us, and/or know more than us. It's what they do to make their small world feel safe and meaningful. Me, I respect and can admire someone with devout beliefs... right up until they start preaching at me.

@prettyflamingo you shouldn’t be ! Just tell whomever is doing it to stop .

I'm uneasy with adults who have imaginary friends!😒

@SW-User that’s all anyone need do . People of faith usually keep to themselves unless around others known to them ... Or at church . No Christian is going to try and convince you of anything ... but when you pop off with your “ imaginary friends “ remark ... your bigotry is there for all to see

@TexChik opinion becomes bigotry in the eyes of those whom are unwilling to listen! My opinion applies to any system based on imaginary entities until proven otherwise. Thank you for your opinion.

@SW-User bigotry is like that ...

Oh poo... lots of people say that . I think it’s more that people who are not Christians or church goers feel uneasy around those who do / are. Christians know to judge someone means that they themselves will be judged ... and judgement is harsh ! So don’t cheat yourself from
Knowing some pretty nice people . They don’t care if you don’t want to go to church , but if you ever do ... they would be proud to take you and sit by you and tell everyone you are their friend . 😊
I hear that. I stopped going to church when it all became about politics in the sermons and the fellowship.

I agree with you and do not go to church either. Not only because of the judgemental but the bastards spread germs around all the time shaking hands, hugging and coughing all over you. EEEEWWWWWWWWW I use to get sick all the time and after I stopped going 20 years ago, I am a lot healthier.
