Isn't who you are partially determined by your thoughts and actions? And who is to say that people won't stumble upon something while going through their normal day and find a bit of insight?

Thank you so much for this insightful post. It took me too long to find out that the truth is nowhere to be found, but yourselves. Finding it is a very dangerous process, you never know what you are going to find.
It is a great truth that most people walk through the world in a survival mode, moved by interests, not principals. It is very hard not to fall into this trap. I do it more often that I would like to. It is a constant fight. We are programmed to follow our interests, that makes us predictable and tamed.
It would really be a pity that this great post gets buried among the thousands of them here.

@Cierzo Those ideas being inherited means that they don't actually belong to us. Which means we can simply let them go in whatever amount of time we feel we need. Things are really only as difficult as we make them to be, but there can certainly be challenges along the way. Being yourself is difficult because the expected behaviour is to try and be like others. As soon as you let this idea go, being yourself will fall neatly into place. The only person in our way is ourselves.

@Cierzo Dangerous in the sense that it strips away a lot of our "inherited" ideas which often clash with our own truth. It's how we decide to react to such a process that determines the overall effect of it. Thank you for taking the time to comment and read. Much appreciated. It's not often you get intelligent responses on here.

See I am completely different my eyes are open I pay attention to the important stuff ingrained in my soul not the BRAINWASHED stuff attempted to change the way I think by this money-hungry-status-seeking world. I realize the price to pay is high but worth it. My goal is to be weird not to fit in. Everyone else is like a mouse running in a maze while I go free from it. We all have to make that choice follow the crowd and live unfulfilled or break free but suffer for being different. "Success" or the drive to get money who does it serve? Gas companies, the game maker, department stores, etc. The pro here is the civilized society we have become. There is more peace more controlled situations for everyone. There is a balance to everything be who you are while gaining skills to this world. Or find your own world away from the mess.

@FocusReborn. Our inherited ideas are stronger than we think we are, and it is really painful to find out that what we thought original is a pale reflection of behaviours and ideas we have seen in others.
Being original is quite overrated. And easy. Being the best in being yourself is extremely difficult.

@amanlyguy I am talking nicely. I just didn't write this post for hum drum replies. I'm using this site for the purpose I believed it was designed.
