Why do I stay when he consistently beats the heck outta me?

He could be having a bad day at work and literally comes home and smashes my face in. It gets really overwhelming and I want to leave but I'm scared what he'll do if I tried.

You obviously aren’t scared because if you were you would run like my my mother, my sister and I did. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to walk into a police station with bruises to get a restraining order.,
