Why do I stay when he consistently beats the heck outta me?

He could be having a bad day at work and literally comes home and smashes my face in. It gets really overwhelming and I want to leave but I'm scared what he'll do if I tried.

@SomebodyThatYouUsedToKnow he's a cop and very respected at his precinct He's even being considered for a promotion. No one would believe me. I ran away from home at 16 and I met him when i was going through the system and all that crap. We started dating when I was 18. They'll just say I'm a miserable girl looking trouble.
