I Have Changed Over The Years
I feel like there are things that we see or do that reminds us how we've changed so much. Recently I completed an essay for a scholarship, I was so confident to write down all my volunteering experiences, my educational and career goals in life, etc.
And all that time, I couldn't help but think about my past self and felt really bad for how I treated myself. I never looked into things like scholarships because I did not have much experience. I was a young adult fresh out of high school who since middle school had been so insecure about herself and focused on what others thought of her, that I never gave back to the community, I never tutored or mentored anyone, etc. All I wanted to do was be in my little bubble: stay at home, play games and watch tv. Once I got older though what finally changed is I took chances, even if I did not like the decision I made or was nervous about it, I did not back down. And the result is where I am now.
