Whats wrong with this tablet ?

My brother in law has an ONN tablet he got it for his birthday back in September now when he texts my sister he says it charges backwards. He said it never done that before he got it he said it just recently started doing it now it takes it 5 hours to charge up to 20%. What's going on with it ? Is there a way to get it fixed ?
