Part of my conversation today with my 18 year old daughter who moved to Paris:

Me: I'm so excited I'm going to get a bottle of vodka today! You don't even understand how long it's been since I've had a drink.😣

Her: Well why don't you just go to the grocery store and get one?🤔

Me: They don't sell liquor at the grocery store here. You have to go to the liquor store to get anything other than wine or beer.😕

Her: Oh haha they have everything at the regular grocery store here--all lined up, ready to go--and cheap!🍻💃

Me: Oh hahaha lucky you 😝

In my state you have to go to the liquor store even to buy beer and wine. It is so draconian.

I think they are closed on Sunday here, but I do not know.

It does not really matter to me since I only buy booze anyway at the store. I like to fill a glass with ice, then half whiskey or rum, and half soda. The only time I buy beer or wine is at a restaurant.
