I Like Smart People

My cousin who loves science was telling me this weekend about Stephen Hawking and why he was an important thinker. I know who he is and that he is a physicist but even with my cousin explaining to me some of his theories, I can't say I understand them that well yet. I can see though that he was a very smart guy and I think that is something that should be respected.

It was his funeral this weekend and I just found a story on line about him and his family. They paid for the homeless of Cambridge UK to have an Easter dinner this year. That's pretty nice its that is something I can understand even if I know nothing about physics.

Amazing the capacity of the heart. Even in their grief they did something for others according to his heart. This made me cry.

Don't worry, most of us mere mortals really couldn't understand Hawking's mind!!

So touching

I firmly believe Stephen Hawking was way overrated. The majority of the reason why I believe he was so overrated is because of his disability people didn't expect anything of him so the small contributions he did actually make blows people away
@dale74 I couldn’t be in more agreement.

@dale74 Absolutely agree. I feel for the situation he was in but think he had to live too much in his head and most of his ideas were just theory and not practical science.
@MeisterAndrew The problem with theory is that it is borderline science fiction because the “proof” doesn’t exist.

That is touching.

But I have a hard enough time understanding Berke Breathed let alone Stephen Hawking!

The world lost one of it's greatest minds last spring, and your post is such a sweet tribute to him. Thank you so much. :)

They actually qualify as hypotheses as none of them are based on real experimental science. Einstein's work was theoretical as it was based on scientific work done before. I suppose he had a lot of time to think but we'll never know how accurate it is. He did manage to sell a lot of books on it though.

That was nice!
Dontworry if such things seem hard to understand, translating science into english is iffy at best

I can't wrap my mind around some of his ideas. He certainly was an amazing man.
The “Big Bang” lost an important guest on its show.
That’s beautiful. 😢
