I suspect we are past that now. The interweb and the cloud mean knowledge is not limited any more. Once the human hurdle of literacy is overcome, the world of knowledge is at your fingertips. Now we need a filter to sort the truth from the rest.

Very true, look how Hitler burned the books. Castro did basically the same with books that did not agree with his regime. The liberals here in the USA are basically doing the same in our public schools and then only allowing the children to read books that promote socialism and the socialist agenda.
