I Am Writing a Novel

And this is a poem I just wrote for it

[center]Healing

Does time alone heal
Or patience too
Or is it the moment
Belief becomes you?

Waiting and watching
And reaching with hope
Accepting and knowing
So apathy can elope

A whisper, a voice
A squeeze of a hand
The humming is drumming
In faraway land

Is healing a feeling
Or a journey to choose
Is it more than the moment
When away fades the bruise?

The scar on your face
That never can fade
But maybe through healing
You can cherish its shade

Is healing forever
Or is it just for now
A lasting endeavour
Your promise? Your vow?

Will healing be ending
When you open your eyes
Or will it end with accepting
Your chosen disguise?

I love this and you ponder many variables, here. How dark is the bruise and how deep is the scar certainly plays into this. Much depends on the fortitude of the person carrying the pain. Some never recover from their pain and there or those who need their pain and may even bask in it to draw sympathy. You are so right...disguising pain is a way to cope. I learned this mechanism from my mother. Sorry, I'm wordy here, but you should be happy to have created a piece so thought provoking. Well done!

It makes me feel overwhelmed that my ramblings can provoke such thoughts. I wonder if the layers of meaning woven and am always fascinated but how people interpret my humble offerings. I j sweat and this is an emotive piece. Healing is a fascinating concept for me. Is there a right way to heal? Is there a wrong way? Is it shameful not to?Thanks for taking the time to read my work @SW-User

"Is healing a feeling
Or a journey to choose" - I believe this.

It is very good writing.

Well I’m not sure the omnipotent author has decided her view on this one.

Is it as simple as choosing?

Thanks for being kind about my writing. 😌@ISeeYou
