I Am Writing a Novel
The Great Adventure... It's time. I've been playing around with a bunch of ideas for a long time now, and as much as I like to come up with new ideas, probably more than I like developing them, I think it's time I put at least one of them into action. I'm not sure which one yet. I have a few ideas. One on the idea of human perfection, one that questions the nature of the human condition, and a rather vast idea for a fantasy novel (I hate that classification, because it's only fantasy in the sense that it's not this world I'm writing about, no matter how realist or naturalistic I make it) that would be the first of a 5 book story arc. And I have a few short story ideas I could try to submit, just to see if my voice, my style of working with words, is accessible, and publishable. But it's time I started.
I'm a bit out of practice fiction writing, as my first few pages have told me, but that's what editing is for, and editing edited work, and editing my edit of the previously edited work. The hardest part is getting the whole plot and story all on the page. The second hardest part is the edit, trying to figure out what the hell I was saying. It'll take a while, but I won't submit anything less than moderate perfection I will probably be less than satisfied with. :)
