Lift him up
But turn him over
Pour him out
Like so much water

Watch him spill
And see him flow
All his hopes
Drained out below

Like the fading memory
Of another forgotten dream
All of what you see in him
Is never all it seems

Like a canvas never painted
Just an off-white empty scene
Devoid and left there, barren
Never to be redeemed
