I Think Life Is Too Short To Be Unhappy

Forgive me for rambling but over the past few weeks I've been dealing with the loss of someone and it's forced me to deal with a lot of emotions I didn't know I had. Well I knew they were there, I just buried them and tried to ignore them. You know, the proverbial ostrich with his head in the sand.

Yesterday I just had one of those ah ha moments. I realized that life is short and can be taken or changed at a moments notice and without warning. When my time is up, I don't want to look back and have any regrets.

It's funny how and where those ah ha moments can hit you. I was standing in the local supermarket pondering what type of syrup to buy for breakfast tomorrow. I mean, do I want butter flavored, low fat, sugar free, name brand or store brand. I've contemplated buying the REAL stuff but I've never done it before because the price is almost 4 times higher. That's when it hit me, life is too short to buy cheap syrup. So this morning I'm having French Toast made with sourdough bread and REAL maple syrup.

Made me smile.. good for you.. we should treat ourselves often.. give ourselves the best we can.. never short-change ourselves in life or in love.

Welcome to the good side where we always have real maple syrup.

I agree with both of you. We deserve the best :)

Sorry for your loss. I t can take a long time to sort through those emotions.
You're right, life is too short to buy cheap syrup and on a side note, the best French toast is made with brioche, even though it was basically a way to use up stale bread.

@diablesse - I always leave my bread out all evening and over night so it can stale up a little. Stale bread does make better French Toast
