Marched to her formroom. Lecture. Ordered to remove blazer. Took plimsoll from cupboard. Ordered me over back of her chair....

Some of my teachers often carried a slipper with them. I got a few slipperings in the corridor for running.

@jayneb Most of my slipperings were instead of detention. We often had the option of 3 with the slipper instead of an hour in detention for routine misbehaviour

@jayneb so when you bent over it was skirt up and slippered across your knickers?

@Justme264 I don't know about @jayneb but that was the usual method in my school. Friends, who attended different schools, say it was the same for them so it seems the practice was widespread.

@Justme264 It was for me as well. Out to the front - bend over, hands on knees, skirt up, 3 whacks and back to your seat. It was usually all over in less than 2 minutes.

I bet the throbbing bottom was not over in 2 minutes?

@Justme264 It was not too bad and far better than spending an hour in detention or writing lines. Most girls preferred a quick whacking to detention.

@Rebecca54 It seems most kids who are in states in America that still paddle in schools prefer that over detention.

@TommyBoy Some teachers gave us a choice of the slipper or detention. I remember anyone opting for detention.
