I Was Slippered By My Form Teacher

Wasn't quite like that for us. But whacks with the slipper were not unusual

@jennypenny: Most teachers would give us a warning or two first, it was really only the PE mistress who went out of her way to find reasons to slipper us. At the other end of the scale, there were teachers who would try to turn a blind eye to a lot of misbehaviour. All we had to do was remember which was which. ;)

At my school girls got it just as often as we did. Female teachers seemed to us it more and never went easy on the girls. From memory, I think all the female teachers used the slipper but I know a lot of the men didn't.

@RemovedUsername790291 I got the cane for going out of bounds too. If we were lucky we just got the slipper of the teacher who caught us but some teacher would send us to the head. or year head for the cane.

Several of us used to sneak out at lunchtime to go to a local recreation ground to smoke. There was less chance of being caught smoking, which always meant a six stroke caning. If we were seen leaving or coming back, there was a reasonable chance of getting away with a slippering or just two or three strokes of the cane.
