I Have Given a Speech
Introductory Speech-A speech for my public speaking class.
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I hope everyone is having a wonderful afternoon.
Many of you look at me and assume I’m 18 or older, but in reality…how old am I really? Looks are one thing, but reality is another.
Now many of my friends tell me that I show and express support when they are facing challenges in their own life. I not only have friends that are my age, but are a lot older. I am also a big brother for a 12 year old in a program called Big Brothers Big Sisters. In school there were students that were not my friends and they would always ask me for my help when it came to their school work. I only helped the ones who I thought dissevered it.
I feel the object that best represents me is the sun. My friends say that I make them happy when their sky is gray. I feel like I am the sun because I am always willing to help others that follow the golden rule. The golden rule being, “Treat others the way you would like to be treated.” I like to be called Cj, for that is the name I’ve grown up with, not Christopher. I am there to help others and that represents the sun rise. However, when I am disrespected I can relate to the sunset. I need time to recover and when that has occurred, I am ready for sunrise. One cannot keep me down for long, because I am strong to face the challenges within a day.
The sun makes things grow and gives off energy. Humans give off energy as well and I would only give off positive energy. I am not extremely talkative, and I feel that’s when the clouds come in to action. Maybe that’s because I’m only 16, not too sure yet, but the clouds prevent me from being extremely talkative and social. However, behind those clouds I’m waiting for it to pass so I can be able to support those that need it.
Like the sun, there is more to it, like me. I graduated high school two years early and ranked number one out of my class. I’ll always be class of 2015. I spend most of my time giving to others, working, and my education. Just like how to sun gives to us and the earth. Like the sun, I don’t need a thank you for what I do, for as that’s what I need to do. I try my best in everything I do. Like art, baking, and following my dreams. I want to go into secondary education and then get my administration license.
I’ll like to leave you with the quote that I go by and love. “The greatest accomplishments is not in falling, but in rising after you fall.”
