I Have a Fear of Falling

Usually I hang back from the edge. Take my time, assess the situation. I don't like being pushed or nudged. I watch, I listen, and when I feel comfortable I may take a leap. A leap of faith that you will catch me, that you won't let me fall flat on my face, based on what I think I know about you.

If you step aside, out of the way, and let me face plant into the sidewalk, chances are I won't ever take that leap again. No use waiting around for it to happen. It won't.

I guess I really don't have a fear of falling as much as I have a fear of not being caught when I do.
