I Love to Eat Delicious Food, But Also Enjoy Very Simple Food,

Mashed Potatoes, baked chicken, and corn as a side. Hard to believe the potatoes are instant. If done right it's near impossible to tell the difference. Going to make some food now because I'm hungry! It's leftovers of what I mentioned but always nice to have extra! :)

What can you possibly do to instant potatoes to make the indecipherable from real ones? I admit, in a pinch they are acceptable so I always keep a couple packages on hand. You can mask the instant taste by pouring cream style corn on top.

@katielass I believe extra butter helps a lot. I just go by what my mom taught me. I think 2 cups of milk but not all of it always you have to judge it by how it looks. sometimes have more than half a cup left when done. Thing is this is all dependent on how much instant potatoes you are making. I forget how much butter exactly would have to go look but I know it is practically a whole stick of hard butter at least.

I'm no expert I just followed what I was told to do.

EDIT: When I say it depends on how much you are making. It matters too how much water and how big a pot you are making.

@Justabitweeb yeah, when I do make them I use more than a stick of butter but I always use the kind you just add boiling water to. They seem to taste better than the ones you add milk to. The thing that I notice is that if you have some left with real mashed potatoes you can make potato pancakes but I can't do that with the instant ones. Have you tried to make those?

@katielass I've never tried.
