But to find the next hit I think you have to let go of the old one. When it does come it won't be a clone of the old hit, but better. Open the front door to your heart, not the back door :)

6 yrs cold turkey and I'm still feeling withdraw symptoms
it's not as bad as it used to be ,but once in a while when I least expect it ,if I let it ,I can go into a tail spin again .
love is the greatest feeling on earth
And the most painful if it slips away .

So I have made the choice to be very careful who I let into my heart like that again .
I don't think I could survive feeling that and losing one more time .
So its not that I don't want to love like that again
Its that I never ever want to hurt like that EVER again

The last one should have killed me ,that would have been more humane
Then to leave me broken ,praying to die
Taking me years to know who I was again ,and the man I was is gone
My kids keep saying they will be happy when they get their old Dad back again
I don't know if that me will every be back again

I am cool with who I am now ,and I know exactly what I want
I don't care what you own ,how successful you are
How loved and well liked you are
When your heart is broken ,you don't care about anything or what anyone thinks
I cried like a baby and didn't care who seen me like that
And I said when I quit crying I will never love like that again

But I am glad I got to dance ,I hate the saying "Its better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all ",and now I agree ,I am glad I had it
But I don't want it again if it won't last forever
And come on ,at my age its not like I am asking for a super long time LOL
But I will die alone before I will settle
I also know its better to be alone
Then tied down to someone you can't stand
I don't have to man up to say this is not working
I much prefer single to that
