I Love My Sister With All My Heart

😂 I have gone back and forth, hesitating to share this, but here goes...
In early March, when Covid-19 was not a “thing” yet, I was on a road trip vacation 1,000 miles from my home. About mid month I realized that I needed to scurry home and self isolate. I arrived home March 21.

When home, I checked my toilet paper supply and 😱😱😱😱😱, I had precious little. By then, there was no tp left for purchase. I knew I had to save my tp for the “big jobs”, and come up with something else for piddle wipes. ( I’m blushing and laughing at the same time. )🤪🤪🤪

I checked online, but no tp, paper towels, Kleenex, or napkins. But I DID find some unbleached, unprinted, 1,000 count cocktail napkins.GLORY! 🙏🏼
What did I use until the napkins arrived??? Umm, coffee filters. Bhahaha.
(I’m dying.) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I called my sister, who lives in a neighboring State, and we laughed and laughed. Later that day Uber left a package of tp at my door. She asked the driver to please take a photo instead of ringing the bell.

My son in law owns a bunch of trailers ,some to carry large loads ,some flat beads he can carry cars or heavy equipment on .
I had a friend needed a car moved and I asked him if he would haul it as a favor to me ,he says sure Dad no problem ,can they help with some gas ?,I said yes and whatever you want for you're time ,I am not asking you to do it for free .
Last week my daughter breaks down ,she does not want a towing company towing her SUV because of her lights and ground effects ,,asks can I get my son in law to haul it for her too,,I say I'll call .
He was busy but willing to drop what he was doing for me ,I love my son in laws .He says but Dad ,I'm not complaining ,but I never heard from you're buddy .
I said about what son ?,,he says when he asked what he owed me ,I just told him when he could, to pick me up some toilet paper (My friend has access to all the TP you could ever need ,like a warehouse full )but he has to get security to make arrangements to get anything out of the building ,he can't just take it .
He gave him a few bucks for gas ,but he thought the TP comment was a joke .
I tell my Daughter he is on the way ,,call my other son in law and ask him to go by the warehouse and grab the son in law with the trailer a huge bundle of TP
Make sure he is paid for his gas and time ,I don't want him to feel we are using him ,,and then supersize him with the TP ,and tell him that is for both times he saved me ,,
He was happy ,see in my world you scratch my back ,I see you are taken care of .
I am also very happy and proud of the family God has blessed me with too .
Such a cute, feel good story. I’m so glad you stopped by and shared it. Thank you.

I have to imagine that quite a few households had conversations about TP alternatives as the number of remaining rolls diminished. The desperation when down to just one, then ....

I just happened to be at a Walmart neighborhood store that had gone empty shelves for about 2 weeks when the stocking clerk rolled out a giant pallet of TP from the warehouse, stacked 15' high. He never made it to the shelf area before the entire pallet was picked clean as everyone threw safe distancing to the wind as they rushed to grab a 12 pack while it was rolling.
And by now are you able to by everything you need to make life as normal as possible? li@Heartlander

Pretty much so. It does seem like the grocery stores are slow in restocking canned soups. Or maybe they are just nudging us to make our own.

There's also still a bit of a crisis in meats and poultry.

Overall, quarantine isn't so bad for us old, retired people. We're pretty good at entertaining ourselves. I haven't done the math yet, but the $$ saved by not really going anywhere (2 month on one tank of gas), not eating out, no movies, etc. may offset the big $$ drop in the stock market.
@Heartlander I, too, am saving money. It has made me way more aware of my spending habits.
A great story. Resourceful too. I am laughing. Enjoy these true stories. Real life. Bravo.
Thanks! As a former EPer, I broke down and shared a REAL story. Thanks for reading, it’s kinda unusual on here.@PoetryNEmotion
@Kathburglar I sm from there too. I miss real stories. Do write more.

Yep. True life stories trump the other kind ten to one. I guess that's why movie makers like to add the "based on a true story" tag when they can.
That’s hilarious! Good thing you broke off the trip when you did! No wonder you love coffee so much. ***wink wink***
