I Am White
I was hanging out with some friends, just talking. My girlfriend was there. She's fond of this joke "I'm a strong, independent, quarter black woman who don't need no man in her life." Whenever I offer to help her with anything. It's cute.
Well, friend commented on it along what else she was. What were her 3 other quarters of genes? She explains she's half Mexican and a quarter German as well as black.
This sparked a conversation of heritage. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Had one friend who was Scottish, another part Spaniard, and even one with very distant Japanese heritage.
Then came my turn.
I told them I was white. They all played off like it was a joke. I told them I can't get any whiter. Finally one friend asks maybe I don't know what's actually not white. "What's you most exotic heritage?"
Italian.
Somehow this lead to me explaining my ethnicity. French, English, Italian, and German are the major factors in my blood. With some Norse mixed in there somewhere.
So as I said before.
I can't get any whiter.
