I can drive a Stick Shift

@chrisCA Yes we had an old farm truck that had a button by the gas pedal you stepped on to start the engine. Fortunately you could start the truck while while it was in gear and the clutch engaged. The starter had enough power to move the truck far and fast enough that the engine would start. The old 6 volt battery had just enough juice.

@hippyjoe1955 Interesting. One advantage of a manual transmission, is that you can still start them if the starter fails.

@chrisCA Yes. That and the fact that you can get them to move on icy roads. A buddy had his pickup stuck at the bottom of a very icy hill. He couldn't get it to go so I asked him if I could try. I backed up a bit, put it in third gear and drove it up the hill like it was bare pavement. He was shocked and grateful.
