I Love to Play Volleyball
I started playing in grade 10, got selected by the gym teacher because I was among the tallest girls in the school. I made it to the college team (actually I chose to go to that university because they had the best female volleyball team ever!), travelling the country for tournaments, hanging out with those volleyball boys (that's how I knew my first official boyfriend :) ). Ah, those was the years!
On arriving to my new country, one of the first thing I looked for is where to practise this sport. I came to know many immigrants who shared the same passion this way. Sometimes, we didn't speak the same language but the chemistry on the court was simply amazing. Wonderful experiences!
I started playing volleyball again last year after a break of almost 10 years (been busy raising kids/family). Since I moved back here, I discovered different leagues in the area, got invited to participate in many tournaments. The feeling of firing up a long-forgotten love and belonging to the right group of people is just fabulous!
I started bringing my girls to my games, hoping they'll play one day, not because volleyball is the best team sport ever, but because of how much it can enrich one's life!
