I Love Wearing Short Trousers

With the full intention of downsizing a little, I had a look to see what trousers and shorts were in my wardrobe. What I found was that I have a few pairs of trousers but many pairs of shorts of all types from standard cotton rugby style shorts to short denim shorts. Basically the trouser part of my wardrobe largely consist of shorts.

Since I am still in shorts I suppose this is not surprising.

Did you manage the intended down-sizing?

I hated wearing shorts as a boy but in later years came to like them, although I don't have very many. I made some by cutting old trousers down but I do have a couple of proper ones, including a pair of blue PE shorts, respectable enough to wear in public.

My legs and feet though do feel the cold so I don't think I could go out in them year-round. Certainly not in the present chill. Much of Saturday night's snow, a rarity on the Southern English coast, has thawed but there are now likely to be dangerous ice patches everywhere.

I've downsized a lot and very rarely go out in anything other than shorts

I love in Arizona and wear shorts year round, just like my friend from Florida. I'm retired and after I did, I too downsized my wardrobe. I have 2 pair of jeans, and 2 pair of long trousers, all the rest of my pantaloons are shorts!

@Pauly Well funny you should talk about retirement as I have just taken early retirement at 58. I am a fairly fit 58, going running and other exercise. Also enjoy YOGA-am a qualified teacher. So am reasonably trim and certainly look fine in short trousers. So wear them as much as possible. I am not that bothered about the length-anything from above the knee to very short in the case of some of my denim shorts, though not ridiculously short or tight. Bum showing is not a good look.

It is a bit harder in the UK to wear shorts right through the year, though I am going to give it a good go. So far it has been four months entirely in short trousers. The postmen and ladies wear shorts when there is snow on the ground.
