Yup, I "met" Stephen King while on vacation in Bridgton, Maine. We know he likes to frequent the center, so we always keep our eyes out whenever we're there, though in the back of my mind I never expect to see him. So I walk out the front of the bookstore on the corner of the main road and an alleyway and see him, his wife, and who I'm assuming are their two grandsons standing at the crosswalk waiting to cross. He's such an ordinary looking guy and blends in so well that I didn't realize it was him at first; my immediate thought was "Man, this guy is the epitome of what a lifelong Mainer should look like." I caught up with the people I was with, who were huddled around pointing and saying Stephen King, and I thought "Oh shit, that [i] was[/i] him!" One of the people I was with is his biggest fan and came running up to me with his phone that he whipped out after King passed him, saying "I got it! I got a picture of Stephen King's butt!" So yeah, that was my celebrity spotting and the crappy picture that came out of it.
@3venus His wife isn't black, but after looking up her picture I can say that it definitely isn't her. (She didn't really look like a novelist anyway 馃槈)
@nik Haha! Read [i]11/22/63.[/i] [b] Totally[/b] different book for him to write. Yes some parts are tense but it's nothing like [i] The Shining[/i] or [i] It[/i] or [i] Christine[/i] or stuff like that. And after you've read it (or if you don't want to read it), I also highly recommend the eight part mini series starring James Franco on Hulu. Incredible incredible story.
How awesome! I'm too chicken to read his books as I have a low creep threshold and I've seen enough snippets of the movies (which are usually not as good as the books!) to know he would chew up my threshold and spit it out. LOL I would still think it was cool to see him though!
