I Think Age Really Is Just A Number
I disagree with this. Hopefully I disagree in a relatively pleasant way. :)
Age is far more than a number. It is among other things a badge of honor. For my grandkids (2 and 4), every birthday is a new adventure. The changing number is a fun way of marking progress as they learn and experience more than every before. With each passing year, they gain more knowledge, wisdom, wit and experiences. My children measure their progress as they have moved into their 20s and early 30s. Every year in their career recognizes more experience and more opportunity. For myself, my favorite age is my current age. I am in no hurry to advance, but neither do I wish to turn back the clock. Each year was unique and although opportunity was there, I've been there and done that. Now I want to experience today, at this age and enjoy those opportunities that have never before been available to me. I see those who are elderly and how much they have to add in the area of wisdom when I am smart enough to slow down and listen. Age is not a number, it's truly who we are. Shaped by the culture and the technology of our lives up to this point, at every age, we have something unique to share that wasn't available to us prior to this point. Age is far more than a number..
I do understand the point of this "Group" is to say that a number doesn't make us "old" and "less relevant" or "too young" and therefore not worthy of sharing opinions. I would agree with that for the most part, but whether your life has been blessed or challenged, age always adds to your beauty as a person.
