I'm not gonna lie, I know nobody asked me
I was searching for years and Today,
I have this thing
on my heart
it's a little hard
to paint it out
to write it down
But We call it calling
we call it the reason God put us on this Earth.
We call it Purpose.
For some of us
Our purpose is
waiting for next Friday
Impatiently anticipating the days of next weekend
I've been there
I've done that
The problem I found was that
I was dying inside my mind for six days
waiting for my chance at the poison
to kill my mind
for a few short hours
on those Friday nights
One day
I got tired of waking up
in rooms of people I didn't know
One day
I got tired of waking up
One day
I was just... tired.
That day was September 27th, 2015
I'd walked away from everything
My girl, my drugs, my drink, my life
That Day
I realized standing on a mountain
That the God who made this Earth made me too.
I realized if he took the time to make something so beautiful for me
I should take the time to make something with this life He gave me
That day
I began one more time
That day
I decided to live, to be who He made me to be.
And I never wanted to be the center of anything
I'd be happy to be somewhere
between somebody
and nobody
I just want to do what I can
Where I can When I can Lend a Hand
Yes, I'm a Christian.
But I'm not here to fix you
I'm here to be the best me I can be to the world around me.
Because there are people here
whose demons live inside of their minds
Who see no light inside the dark
Who would rather die than try to restart
I know what it's like
with the demons inside our minds
they tell us that we alone can end the pain
We alone can understand
We alone can help ourselves
We are alone.
I've been there, I've Done That, I've got the scars on my heart
And I'm here to tell you
