I Miss My Friends

During high school, I made several friendships that were maintained into adulthood. However, my two closest friends passed away about 10 years ago. I miss them very much. Even now, I still have the desire to call them and talk on the phone. When I see something like beautiful autumn colors, or festive Christmas decorations, I send thoughts up to them in Heaven. It just isn't the same as hearing their voices or getting together for lunch. Fortunately, I do have other friends. Still, I don't think that I will ever stop missing my two dearest friends.

your friends will be forever alive in your heart, memories keep them alive and while you cannot speak with them you certainly can remember the good times
@SagePoet Yes, and I do remember them almost daily.

one of the things that suck from getting old...losing close friends :(
@booboo Yes, and we weren't that old. We were in our 40's when my friends passed away suddenly.

As long as you are here, they will ALWAYS be here.
@ASouthernGentleman Thank you!
I'm so sorry, and I know how that is. On Dec 31, 1999 I celebrated the end of the 20th century with a group of good, good friends. By 2009, literally half of our number had passed away. It's weird seeing the changes in our world and country that have gone on without them. 😞
@bijouxbroussard I'm so sorry that you have lost a number of good friends, too. We do carry on, but it's such an adjustment.

@bijouxbroussard The older you get the more it hapends.
@jackson55 Yes, it's true, sadly.
