I Have Cancer
I wrote a comment back in February about having cancer - stage 4 Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (CLL) - and being in the 5th year - now the 6th year - of a 2 year clinical trial at the James Cancer Center at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I call what I am in now as "Post Study".
I go every 28 days from Northern Michigan - 485 miles each way - and they give me 28 pills. As long as It keep going and they keep testing my blood, they will keep giving me the 28 pills for the next 4 weeks. There are still some cancer stem cells floating around, but so few as to be undetectable. Undetectable is a GREAT word when you have cancer.
Absolutely everyone at the James is WONDERFUL, and they have me best interests at heart, but - because so have a compromised immune system, they want to put too many restrictions on my life. They said I should not keep chickens, I should not go into our attic, etc., etc., etc. I told them that I will take all reasonable precautions - such as wearing a respirator for the chickens or the attic, but they still suggested that I not do these activities.
So, having told them my plans beforehand, I stopped in Ypsilanti on my way back from Columbus in December and got the tattoo shown below. They liked the motto.

Tell me what you think. I had it facing me so I can easily read it for encouragement.
