True. We humans get a bad wrap.
We are collectively responsible for the genocide of thousands of species of animals whom we coexisted with for millenia back when we were gatherer-hunters.
We are now the creators of climate change. It can no longer be averted, only slowed and brought within a survivable limit (for humans and agriculture - and that only if all countries and all people cooperate.
If we don't, we could go to 5ºC global warming by 2050, which would mean massive catastrophic extinctions of most species We will dye by the many millions, with climate refugees moving wherever they think their chances might be best. Those who don't want to be invaded by stranger will be so swamped that they won't be able to prevent it - not even with bombs.
As a species, we are greedy, fearful, quick to anger, and mostly ignorant about far more than we realise.
Yep, even with all the problems in nature, I think I'd rather be an orangutan.
