I Have Lots of Wtf Moments

Would this be considered stalking?

Before I decided to quit my job, there was this man who worked on 1st shift before I transferred to second shift that would try to talk to me. The first time I was late going back to work and ignored him, but the second time I was sitting alone in the cafeteria waiting for my 30 minute lunch break to end. I was really tired and did not feel like being annoyed, but he showed up and started talking to me again. He would ask me questions about where I live and what I do. I ended up telling him that I planned on going to night shift (which was second shift) to carpool with my Mom who was also on second shift.

After asking me some weird questions such as if I know anyone who sells dope in the area we were in, if I smoke dope, and if I want to stay at his apartment that he claimed had two rooms and two bathrooms I turned him down. I wasn't interested in him to begin with tbh. He left upset and I went back to work. Two days later, after I finally got onto 2nd shift, a trainer at my station asked me if I wanted to take a 10 minute break, so I did. Fast forward, once I left the restroom to go back onto the floor, I noticed the same man with this blank expression on his face sitting alone in the cafeteria, quietly staring at me. I thought to myself, "what the hell is he doing here on the night shift? Isn't he suppose to be on days?" He didn't mention anything about transferring to nights nor did I see him in any work clothes.

When it was time for our 30 minute break, my Mom was sitting right across from the double doors that leads inside the factory when I came out. A few minutes into our break and she noticed my skullcap was peeking out from under my hairnet so I decided to get another one from this supply area also across from us. That's when I noticed the same creep walking in my direction, he just showed up out of the blue. I thought we were about to bump into each other until I stopped and he let me pass, I got my hairnet and sat back down. That's when I told my Mom about the man standing at the supply area that it was the same man on first shift (I had told her about him before this incident). There were a few times when I looked back and he stood there not asking for anything from the worker who gave out the supplies. I don't even recall the man or the worker chit-chatting. Whatever this guy was doing, once he was done he passed us and I heard him say, "How ya'll doing?" My Mom said hi, and he walked off. I did not see him for the rest of the night.

On our way home after work, when I told my Mom about him, she told me he was really staring at us before walking away. I don't know if this was considered stalking, but it was just a very weird night. Fortunately, I ended up resigning from my job not because of this man but because of other reasons.

Hmmm. Definitely creepy. The whole "wanna move in with me" thing especially. Sometimes stuff like that can happen--running into someone coincidentally. If it would have continued to happen, I would have been certain. But just one coincidence, I couldn't take too seriously. I don't think it would qualify as stalking, since that was his place of work, as well. He may have had a reason for being there, that one time.

I'm ignorant of the laws, though.

If he would have followed you home, then definitely. Or if it happened consistently, then I'd say yeah. For that, I'd just say very red flags.
