I Think Kids Should Still Learn Cursive Writing In School

My son is in the 3rd grade, I remember learning cursive around that age. My son told me they don’t teach him cursive. And my two other sons said they never really learned it either. The sad part is my oldest son is in the 9th grade cursive is a big part of growing i feel because its a simple thing to teach and you will have to do it when you grow up like all the time.

u right they should teach them calligraphy ... and instead of sex education they should learn how to deal with life problems.. or about banking ...saving ...etc.

@monster007 ` Calligraphy and cursive aren't the same thing. Kinda silly to hold back a student or have their grade average suffer because they aren't good at calligraphy.

I practiced a lot of cursive but that never helped me improve my handwriting lol
It isn't bad but not even close to cursive

I have a third grader as well. No cursive but they have online assignments. Something wrong with this picture.

They can't do simple math.
Show one sum long division, they cat even read it

I kinda feel the same way but at the same time I been coming around because to be honest it's not very useful anymore and rarely used anymore. It likely will be less and less.
